Choosing export format and scale

PNG, JPG, WebP and 2×: prepare a useful download.

These are composition illustrations made for this guide, not editor screenshots.
  1. 1.Decide whether you need transparency

Transparent PNG keeps empty areas transparent. PNG with background and JPG include a background. Check background layers if an unexpected dark or light area appears.

  2. 2.Match the format to the destination

PNG works well for cutouts and graphics with defined edges. JPG can suit photographs and images with backgrounds. WebP is often useful on the web; confirm that your destination supports it.

  3. 3.Check the scale

A 1080 × 1080 artboard exports to 1080 × 1080 at 1× and 2160 × 2160 at 2×. Increasing scale does not restore detail missing from a small source image. Technical export limits still apply.

  4. 4.Open the downloaded file

Review it at 100%, check edges and text and verify transparency in another application when needed. A PRO notice identifies a resource or feature requiring access; replace it or use the appropriate access.
